Appearance
The only limiting factor on the appearance of mystics is how wild their sense of fashion is. It is impossible to tell a mystic from a regular person until they start making use of their abilities.
Strengths
Truthfully a mystic's only true strength over the regular masses of humanity is his/her ability to command the force of nature as appropriate to his/her magical ability as detailed in the Mystic Factions section regrading Magical Traditions.
However, in comparison to the other supernaturals mystics have two marked strengths. Firstly; they can fully operate in mortal society without problems, holding down full time jobs, having families, etc. Secondly; in the rising conflicts between the supernatural groups, they have the benefit of being the most numerous of supernaturals.
Weaknesses
Physically speaking, a mystic is no more or less than human. Therefore, they suffer all natural failings of humanity. They grow old, they get sick, injuries take a long time to heal and so on. Killing one is a simple matter of doing anything that would kill a normal person.
With regards to their powers however; channeling mystical forces as they do is a tiring affair. A mystic loosing off a large number of spells within a short space of time will soon find themselves fatigued, perhaps even unconscious from the strain upon both mind and body.
Individual traditions have their own unique short comings as detailed below:
Hermetics
Whilst a Hermetic Magician can cast simple cantrips with but a gesture and a few mumbled words, the most powerful rituals require time, space and often material components. Subsequently; Hermetic Magic requires a great deal of forethought and a magician caught unawares has access to only a fraction of his true power.
Wild Mages
As Wild Magic is based of the manipulation of pre-existing forces, the Mage must have access to that force in order to work with it. For example, a Water Elementalist would have great difficulty working any form of their magic in the middle of a desert. However, out at sea it would be an entirely different matter.
Psionics
With Psionics the overexertion caused by over use of their powers is somewhat more than fatigue. In minor cases it can be chronic nosebleeds and migraines. In the most extreme cases it can cause strokes, brain aneurysms and death.
