Appearance
Lycanthropes, or Werewolves as they are more commonly known, are men and women cursed to take the form of wolves by the light of the full moon. They appear no different from regular humans when in their human form, and no different from wolves when they are in their lupine form; save that they are generally larger than even the biggest natural wolf. A werewolf's true nature is immediately obvious, however, when they take their man-wolf hybrid form. It takes effort for a newly turned lycan to control these transformations and they are always forced to assume their lupine form on the night of the full moon when they must hunt for human flesh.
A lycan's hybrid form is similar to that of the wolfmen of fable, easily one and a half times the size of a man withdestinctly lupine characteristics. In this form they are at their strongest and such a sight is fearsome to behold.
Strengths
Lycanthropes are incredibly resistant to disease and harm, and possess the ability to heal from even the most serious non-fatal wounds within minutes or hours depending on severity. Their senses are enhanced to lupine levels, meaning acute hearing, sight and sense of smell.
A werewolf's power is intrinsically related to the phases of the lunar cycle, and thus a werewolf has a unique supernatural ability or aptitude based upon the phase under which they were turned. These abilities will be covered in more detail under the factions section for Werewolves.
A lycanthrope that has mastered the transformation, whilst still forced into their wolf form under the full moon until they have consumed fresh meat, can turn whenever under the light of the moon.
Weaknesses
Silver is the bane of lycanthrope-kind, and any wound caused by silver cannot be healed by their natural regenerative abilities, many werewolves bleed to death because of cuts from silver blades.
Lycanthropes also have a distinct aversion to the Aconite plant, and its natural poison is even more dangerous when administered to them, resulting in death within a matter of minutes in ingested or taken into the bloodstream.
Lycans, being creatures of instinct, have difficult control their most primal emotions, I.e.: fear, anger, lust. Of particular note; is what has beome known as Luna's Kiss, a state in which a lycan flies into a blind rage, attacking anything and everything around them. This is triggered by extreme feelings of anger or fear. However, unlike the vampiric Blood Fury, lycans do not consider this a weakness of character.
